Math i news: Welcome to High School!
Hello students and parents! I am so excited to welcome you to the Garinger High community and my classroom this year!
What We're Learning and Why
This year we will work together to achieve success in Math I. First, we will focus on the foundational building blocks of Algebra, and then we will dive into mastering mathematical concepts including equations and inequalities, functions and graphs, exponential expressions, and descriptive statistics. Math I serves as the stepping stone into more advanced math courses and you will continue to utilize your knowledge of these concepts throughout high school. Perhaps even more importantly, Math I teaches skills in recognizing patterns and relationships, and in comprehending and manipulating data to solve problems. These will be valuable life-long skills for you to develop in order to succeed in a world that uses technology and data more and more every day.
My Expectations for Our Team
I am ready to come to school every day and work with you all to achieve mastery in Math I. I expect the same from you. Sometimes things will get frustrating, other times our motivation may feel challenged, but we can push through that together if we stay positive and keep focused on the goal of achieving 80% success in every unit. I believe in you and I will not give up. I expect you to believe in yourself and to not give up either. If we do that, we will have a great year that ends with success!
Now take some time to explore the matrix - you can find helpful videos, entertaining videos, highlights of Algebra in the real world, and more
